Willett Elementary School PTA

A national competition involving students in the American political process: determining a local problem or need, collecting data on the problem, evaluating possible courses of action, narrowing the focus to a single course of action, and appearing before one or more political bodies to sell the plan.

The PTA-sponsored Pub Club is an after-school club for 4th, 5th and 6th graders interested in writing and putting together a student newspaper and literary magazine. Sixth graders complete their four-month long science fair projects and display them in the multi-purpose room for families to see and admire.

Third through sixth graders spend the morning on the playground and field areas participating in events such as the baseball toss, basketball obstacle course, the long jump, arena tag, and the water balloon toss.

Kindergarten through third graders travel in their regular class from one event to another whereas 4th-6th graders are split into mixed grade level groups with one teacher as a leader. Parents help to run each of the 14 stations.
